LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Three teenagers were killed Wednesday night after crashing a stolen car in North Las Vegas.
Two 13-year-olds and a 15-year-old were fatally injured when the car collided with a light pole and was "cut in half."
According to officials with the North Las Vegas Police Department, the single-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of North Martin Luther King Boulevard and East Carey Avenue around 11:57 p.m.
Police say the teens were traveling in a red 2017 Kia Soul that was reported stolen in Henderson.
The driver was traveling southbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard at high speed when police say they "began to lose control" and "eventually left the roadway."
The car hit a light pole on the southwest corner of the intersection, which cut the vehicle in half, according to police.
Police say there were five people in the car at the time of the crash. Two died at the scene, and a third was pronounced dead while en route to a nearby hospital.
Two more people were taken to University Medical Center with "serious, life-threatening injuries" and listed in critical condition, according to police.
According to the Clark County Coroner, the three teens killed in the crash died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Police say their investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
