LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A common complaint during the school year for valley parents is traffic in school zones. Some smartphone apps aim to cut down on school traffic and congestion.
For many parents at Desert Oasis High School, taking their teenager to school can be a nightmare. With Cactus Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard the only major intersection near the high school, some parents told us they wait up to 45 minutes in the drop-off line.
There are several apps now for organizing an old-fashioned carpool.

Carpool Kids lets you invite friends from your contact list to create a carpool.
GoKid helps parents find others they may not know in their school community.
Carpool to School even lets you find classmates nearby for your teen to walk to school with.
Apps like these could help parents get out of long lines before and after school.
