UPDATE - 7:15 p.m.
Las Vegas police are clarifying and releasing more details about a crash that happened on Fort Apache.
According to investigators, evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a Dodge Charger was traveling on South Fort Apache Road at a high rate of speed. Police said a Jeep Cherokee was making a left turn to go north on South Fort Apache Road from West Tompkins Avenue and the two vehicles collided.
Police said the 16-year-old driver of the Jeep Cherokee was taken to University Medical Center's Trauma Unit with critical injuries. There were three people in the Charger, all men in their 20s. Two of them had minor injuries while one had substantial injuries.
Investigators said the driver of the Dodge didn't show any signs of impairment. After being released from the hospital, he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on charges related to the collision.
As of 10 p.m., Fort Apache is open in both directions.
PREVIOUS - 2:30 p.m. At least four people have been injured after a Sunday crash on Fort Apache Road.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, several people reported two vehicles were "driving recklessly" while driving southbound on Fort Apache from Peace Way.
Investigators said a third vehicle was attempting to make a southbound turn onto Fort Apache when they were hit by one of the reckless drivers.
Police said the suspect driver and passengers in his vehicle were taken to the hospital as well as a driver in the vehicle they hit.
As of 5:00 p.m., no further details about the crash have been released and they add this is preliminary information.
Fort Apache Road is closed in both directions between Tropicana Avenue and Peace Way while police continue their investigation.
