Thousands turn out for Martin Luther King, Jr. parade in Downtown Las Vegas

UPDATE: Thousands of people attended one of the largest parades in the country on Monday morning in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

ORIGINAL STORY

On January 15, the nation commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Las Vegas will host a parade in Downtown Las Vegas, which starts at 10 a.m. at 4th Street and Gass Avenue.

Road closures will begin at 5 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Affected areas include the following:

  • 4th Street from Charleston Boulevard to Stewart Avenue
  • All side streets between Charleston Boulevard and Stewart Avenue that cross 4th Street for a block on both sides of 4th.

If you take public transportation, RTC will detour several bus routes from 6:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Those routes include 109, 113, 207, 208, and 215.
