LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A three-vehicle crash closed down all northbound lanes on US-95 at Summerlin Parkway on Wednesday morning, according to Nevada State Police.
Currently, all lanes have been reopened and the crash has been cleared by Highway Patrol.
The crash, which happened around 5:19 a.m., is causing major delays along US-95 and delaying many morning commutes. The closure stretches from Rainbow Boulevard to Jones Boulevard, according to RTC.
Drivers traveling in the area are advised to find other routes.
According to police, preliminary investigation indicated that a dark-colored Jeep was traveling northbound on US-95, driving in a "reckless manner," according to witnesses. The front of the Jeep then struck the rear of a silver Toyota, which was steered onto the Summerlin Parkway off-ramp where it came to rest.
Upon impact, police say the Jeep overcorrected causing it to overturn and come to rest on its roof in a travel lane. While the Jeep was stopped in the travel lanes, a white Toyota was traveling northbound on US95 when its front struck the Jeep.
Police say the driver of the white Toyota was transported to University Trauma Center in critical condition. The driver of the Jeep was placed under arrest for suspicion of impairment.
The driver of the silver Toyota did not report any injuries. There was also a dog in the white Toyota, and it did not sustain any injuries.
The hard closure will remain in place on US-95 northbound and all traffic is being diverted off at Jones.
