The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released further details about a Wednesday wreck that hospitalized five people.

According to police, a Honda Accord was traveling east, speeding, on Tropicana near Andover. A BMW 750 was making a left turn from westbound Tropicana to head south on Andover, and the front of the Honda hit the right front of the BMW.

Everyone in the Honda was taken to Sunrise Trauma for medical attention. Police said their injuries are as follows:

  • 31-year-old driver: critical
  • 30-year-old passenger: critical
  • 7-year-old passenger: critical
  • 6-year-old passenger: life-threatening
  • 12-year-old passenger: serious

The driver of the BMW stayed at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.

UPDATE Aug. 7, 10:38 p.m.

LVMPD said Tropicana Avenue between Boulder Highway and Andover Drive is still closed following a two-vehicle collision.

Police are now saying one vehicle had five occupants — two adults and three juveniles. All five were taken to an area hospital for minor to moderate injuries, but one juvenile is in critical condition.

Police fatal detectives are responding to the investigation, but at this time, the juvenile in critical condition is still alive.

Investigators said impairment for one driver — who stayed on the scene with minor injuries — is not suspected, but it is unknown for the other driver who was transported to the hospital at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
