Many places in the middle of the country have been suffering from exceptionally hot temperatures most of the week.
Heat advisories, excessive heat warnings and watches have slowly been spreading out from the Plains into the Midwest, the Southeast and eventually to the East Coast this weekend.

The triple digit heat won't last forever though. The weather pattern is already showing signs of a change.
Some cooler air from Canada is expected to dip farther south and bring some slight relief to the Plains by the end of the weekend. That cooler air will slowly shift into the Midwest, Southeast and eventually the East Coast by early next week.
While temperatures are still expected to be warmer than average, the extreme, oppressive heat appears to be gone for the time being.
