LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The UNLV Athletics Department is pausing voluntary student-athlete workouts after a few of the athletes tested positive for COVID-19.
UNLV Athletics announced on Friday that as part of its screening process, four student-athletes tested positive for COVID-19 and have been placed in isolation per medical protocols and procedures.

Additionally, a handful of other student-athletes who came in contact with those infected have also been placed in quarantine.
And as a result of these developments, UNLV Athletics has temporarily stopped all voluntary workouts for student-athletes at through July 5.
A spokesperson for the department said they are working with medical advisers and team physicians to determine when it will be safe to resume student-athlete workouts.
