NEVADA (KTNV) — The Mountain West reports it plans to play an eight-game football season starting on Oct. 24.

And the championship game will take place on Dec. 19 for the conference, before the scheduled College Football Playoff selections.
The Mountain West became the second league Thursday to approve a fall season, as Pac-12 presidents approved a seven-game slate beginning Nov. 6.

The conference had previously announced the indefinite postponement of all scheduled fall sports contests, which included football, back in August.

The MWC consists of the following schools: UNLV, UNR , Air Force Academy, Boise State University, Colorado State, Fresno State, University of New Mexico, San Diego State University, San Jose State University, Utah State University and the University of Wyoming.
Conference representatives said they will have more information about the upcoming season later in the week.
