LAS VEGAS (AP) — The struggling Las Vegas Raiders continue to find innovative ways to lose.
Moments after Daniel Carlson’s 22-yard field goal gave the Raiders a 25-23 lead with 23 seconds left, Miami kicker Jason Sanders split the uprights from 44 yards out with six seconds left, lifting the Dolphins to a 26-25 victory.
But it was the puzzling sequence leading up to Carlson’s go-ahead field goal that Raiders coach Jon Gruden was unapologetic for, as Josh Jacobs slid to Miami’s 1-yard line on 2nd down and Derek Carr knelt on the Dolphins’ 4-yard line on 3rd down.
