NHL leaders held a meeting Tuesday to discuss whether Las Vegas will be getting an expansion team, according to multiple reports.
The other possible expansion choice would be Quebec City.
The nine-member meeting is reportedly considering three options -- expansion for next season, deferring expansion until the following season or no expansion.
The committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Governors, which is expected to make a decision June 22 at its meeting in Las Vegas.
The earliest a team could be playing in Las Vegas would be the 2017-18 season.
