The National Football League has extended virtual offseason and has reportedly opted against in-person minicamps through June.

According to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, teams were notified that the virtual offseason would be extended through June 26.

Pelissero added that teams could extend their virtual offseason, or as many organizations are already doing discontinuing after this week.

"The NFL and NFLPA continue to work together on remaining protocols to create a safe reopening for training camp," Pelissero reported.

In May, the NFL released its 2020 schedule, which includes teams playing four preseason games and 16 regular-season games.

Training camps are expected to begin next month, so the league and the players association are working on COVID-19 protocols to make sure camps are reopened safely, NFL's Nick Shook reported.
