UPDATE: University of Nevada, Las Vegas defeated the University of Nevada, Reno 23-17 in the Battle for Fremont Cannon Saturday night.
The Fremont Cannon will be painted red and return to Las Vegas. In addition, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve will wear an UNLV jersey to a city council meeting.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman is wagering with Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve on the battle for the Fremont Cannon.
The winner of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and University of Nevada, Reno football game will get the cannon. The game is Saturday in Reno.
The mayor whose team loses will wear the winning team's jersey to an upcoming city council meeting.
The Nevada Wolf Pack leads the all-time series 24-16 including last year's win over the UNLV Rebels at Sam Boyd Stadium.
