LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Aces are all the way out in Connecticut, yet the fans are showing support from all the way back home.
KTNV's sports reporter Tina Nguyen confirmed with the Aces that the parade to celebrate the win will start at Caesars Palace around 5:30 p.m. and then end at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino on Tuesday.
The following information was also provided in a press release:
The Las Vegas Aces are celebrating the franchise’s first WNBA championship, and the first major professional sports championship in Las Vegas, with a celebration on the Strip on Tuesday, September 20.
The rally route will begin at Caesars Palace and continue on Las Vegas Blvd. S, culminating at a stage in front of the Bellagio fountains with remarks from members of the team, coaching staff, Governor Steve Sisolak and Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft.
Aces favorites including the Full Tilt Dance Crew, High Rollers, in-game hosts CJ Simpson and Joe Brown as well as the Aces DJ, Joe Green will also perform. Aces PA Announcer, Chet Buchanan, will serve as the emcee.
The rally is free and open to the public, and begins at 5:30 pm PT.
Traffic on the Southbound lanes of Las Vegas Blvd will be closed between Flamingo and Bellagio Drive from 6:00 am-11:00 pm as a result. The roads by Caesars Palace and Flamingo Road will experience rolling closures throughout the event.
Parking is available in several self-parking garages at standard parking rates. Fans are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly.
The Aces secured their first WNBA Championship with a 78-71 victory over the Connecticut Sun Sunday afternoon, taking the series three games to one. Chelsea Gray was named Finals MVP, scoring 20 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 6 assists in the deciding game.
The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign changed to red in support of the team, and some Clark County officials are wearing their Aces jerseys.
Officials also confirmed that some hotels throughout the Las Vegas Strip will change colors to celebrate the Aces.
Nevada officials are also celebrating the Aces win by showing some love through tweets.
