The Las Vegas 51s minor league baseball team will continue to be affiliated with the New York Mets.
The 51s and Mets announced Tuesday a two-year extension of their Player Development Contract, maintaining the two teams’ affiliation through the 2018 season.
The teams originally signed the contract on Sept. 17, 2012 and then renewed on Aug. 28, 2014.
Las Vegas is completing its 34th season in the Nevada as a member of the Pacific Coast League.
The city has previously been affiliated with the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays.
