HENDERSON (KTNV) — A map posted to the website Reddit has raised some concerns about the new Henderson Events Center.
The map uses color codes to highlight free parking near the upcoming venue, much of it in residential areas.

One resident who says he lives in one of the green areas, indicating where free parking is available, reached out to 13 Action News saying they are concerned that their neighborhood will be disrupted.
When asked about the Reddit post, the City of Henderson said in an email:
The link you sent refers to the Henderson Events Center, which will have increased parking and transportation amenities in place when the building opens in the Spring of 2022. The 6,000-seat Events Center will have a smaller building footprint and more effective and efficient use of the site, allowing us to more than double the amount of on-site parking than was previously available for the 6,500-seat Pavilion. The City understands the resident’s concern and is working with transportation experts to minimize the impact on the neighborhoods surrounding the Events Center.
Henderson Event Center will replace the Henderson Pavilion and be the home of the Silver Knights, the Vegas Golden Knights AHL affiliate.
Some were against the idea of the new events center and started a petition, which the Henderson City Council rejected earlier this year.
