LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Golden Knights will not have to wait long to go for revenge against the San Jose Sharks.
NHL officials announced Friday that the Sharks will play against the Golden Knights on Oct. 2 at T-Mobile Arena for Las Vegas’ 2019-20 regular season home opener.
San Jose eliminated Las Vegas in a contentious seven-game first round series this past season. A debated call late in the deciding game saw San Jose rally from 3 goals down before winning in overtime.
Although the Golden Knights have only been in existence for two seasons, they already have a deep history with the Sharks. Las Vegas owns a 5-1-2 record in regular season contests during that span, but the pair have met in the playoffs both seasons and each have one series victory.
The two teams will also face off twice during the preseason, including the last game before the start of the regular season on Sept. 29. All preseason games will be available live on KTNV.
The full NHL season schedule will be unveiled June 25, at 9 a.m. PT.
