Vegas Golden Knights president Kerry Bubolz announced in a press conference today, Feb. 12, the team and Clark County School District will bring street hockey to Clark County middle schools in partnership with NV Energy and the National Hockey League through the Golden Knights Hockey Academy Program.
“This partnership is a great opportunity to help grow youth hockey and create excitement for the sport among middle schoolers in Clark County,” said Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz. “We want to thank our partners at Clark County School District, NV Energy, NHL and the NHL Players’ Association for helping make this program possible.”
Clark County middle schools taking part in this initiative will be provided a full set of street hockey equipment, teaching guides and a student curriculum book to implement street hockey into the physical education programs. All physical education teachers will go through proper hockey training provided by the Golden Knights youth hockey development staff.
The NHL and the NHL Players’ Association are supporting the efforts to grow hockey in Nevada by providing resources to help with this program.
