The majority of Vegas Golden Knights players swapped their hockey sticks for golf clubs today to play in the team's first-ever charity golf classic.
The players joined more than 100 fans for an 18-hole round of golf at Bear's Best golf course in Summerlin.
By the time the first player tee'd off, more than $200,000 had been raised for the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, which supports dozens of local charities. Foundation president John Coogan said he expects the fundraising to top $250,000 by the close of the event.
The Vegas Golden Knights take on the Arizona Coyotes in their first preseason game this Sunday at T-Mobile Arena. Puck drops at 5 p.m.
