Duke and UNLV took to the hardwood of T-Mobile Arena on Saturday. And it wasn't pretty for the Runnin' Rebels.
The two teams previously met in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament in 1991. Duke squeaked by the undefeated Rebels. In 1990, UNLV thrashed Duke 103-73 in the tournament finals to win their first and only National Championship.
While Saturday's game may have been a big upset for the Rebels, who lost 45-94, the game was a win-win for those supporting the fight against cancer.
The game was part of the Coaches vs. Cancer program, which empowers coaches, their teams, and communities to raise awareness and funds to find cures for the disease. So far, the program has raised more than $87 million for the American Cancer Society.
