LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — MMA fighter Conor McGregor announced his retirement from the sport in a tweet sent from his account late Monday night.
Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today.

I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition.
I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement.
Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!
McGregor had some trouble earlier this month with the law as he was arrested in Florida for an incident involving a fan.
The former UFC star also took part in a historic boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas back in August 2017.
