LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Next month, the Las Vegas Aviators will take to the field at the new Las Vegas Ballpark and tickets are already sold out for opening night.

13 Action News went around town to the new field in Summerlin, where crews are working to get the new 10,000 seat stadium ready for the first pitch. Officials with the Aviators are excited also.

"It's gonna be great. The fans of Southern Nevada deserve this. They've supported us since 1983, this will be our 37th year," says Jim Gemma, Media Relations Director for the Aviators. "It's gonna be a win win for everybody, and it'll just be a great place to go and watch a game."

The Las Vegas Ballpark will cover eight acres, and has some good neighbors. It sits adjascent to the Golden Knights practice facility, right by the Red Rock Casino.

The new logo of the futuristic aviator pilot is getting the team ready for the 2019 season. For those fans wondering about the mascot, Officials tell us that Cosmo (from the 51s) will still be around for now. But, a new mascot is expected to make its debut during April's opening game night.
