LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Many industries are struggling during the pandemic, but if you're job hunting, the trucking industry is seeing a major boom.
Trucking and freight magazine "Transport Topics" says trucking is providing one of the few bright spots to the U.S. economy.
The industry is hiring and pay for vans, flatbeds and refrigerated trucks are all on the rise due to a driver shortage.
The HDS Truck Driving Institute is helping to fill the void and says earning a commercial driver's license takes about a month.
Training includes a 160-hour course with classroom training the first week and then three weeks of learning to maneuver the trucks.
