LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — It's that time of year again when employees sign up for health insurance through their employers.

The question is - will the pandemic impact the cost of your coverage?

Economist Melissa Thomasson has spent her career studying employment based health insurance.

She says health insurance companies lost a lot of their customers this year as people lost their jobs.

But the good news is, companies didn't lose as many as predicted.

Ultimately though, Thomasson says premiums are expected to increase this year but only due to regular annual increases in medical costs.
