LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — September is Suicide Prevention Month.

Now more than ever as our mental health is put to the test, it's important to discuss the stigma surrounding suicide.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. with a 35% rise in the suicide rate from 1999 to 2018.

Brad Gill's father died by suicide.

He says, while many people want to avoid the topic, having a tough conversation with family and friends can save a life, since it impacts everyone.
