LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A mother of two dyslexic children is developing an app to help her kids and others struggling with remote learning.

Nadine Gilkison says she can't afford private tutoring for her son and daughter.

As an educator, she wants a solution to help her children, low-income and non-English speaking families, so she started creating a free app called Blending Board.

The app helps students with dyslexia sound out syllables and improve reading through what's called a "blending board."

The app already has more than 250,000 downloads and is available through the Apple App Store.
