LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An old treatment is gaining new traction, helping some people with anxiety and depression during the pandemic.
It's called Accelerated Resolution therapy or ART.
It's a treatment used with a lot of veterans suffering from PTSD.
It claims to re-train the brain to process trauma and resolve it, in just one to five sessions.
Licensed mental health counselor Ann Witt has handled thousands of ART cases over the last seven years.
Witt says traumatic events often get stuck in the brain.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy can move that memory, erase it and replace it permanently.
