LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas woman is showing the valley what the giving season is all about. Amber Stevenson was furloughed from her bartending job in March, but has spent the better half of this year putting food on the tables of those in need.

Stevenson said she started volunteering at Three Square Food Bank to fill the time. After a while, she started taking leftover food to donate to families in need in the Silverado Ranch area. Now, she’s running a one-woman food bank bringing truck loads of food to hundreds of families.

“Last week we did a little over 300 people. I bought this little beater truck so we could get more and more food in these cars. Last week we had three cars. The need is there,” said Stevenson.

Eventually, Stevenson wants to turn her operation into a bonafide drive through food bank.

Stevenson also started a GoFundMe campaign in order to raise funds to help families pay bills and have a nice holiday.

If you’d like to help or if you need assistance, Stevenson suggests sending a personal message via Facebook.
