LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Thousands of bags of food were handed out Friday, to at-risk kids across the Las Vegas valley.
CCSD provides food for families in need during the week, but many families struggle to put food on the table over the weekend. The volunteers with the Serving our Kids Foundation have been collecting food, and filling bags, to deliver to at-risk kids so they have something to eat over the weekend.
Before the crisis, the foundation was serving 70 schools. They've added 100 schools since the pandemic started. That's just under 5,000 kids in need.

"We've been quietly in the background providing these meals. Today, we're at the forefront now because of the current crisis," says Joe DiRaffaele, a volunteer with Serving our Kids Foundation.
