LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Simone Brown, a teacher at Mike O'Callaghan Middle School, is being recognized for bringing a coding program to the school. She credits Amazon for helping her get her students excited about coding.

She applied for the Amazon Future Engineer Program after she noticed students were outgrowing the free curriculum offered online.

The students are now also able to take advantage of training and coding camp opportunities they may not have known been able to afford before.

This is a huge success for the middle school since it is their first year as a magnet STEM academy.
