Walmart announced that Las Vegas residents generated more than $110,400 for Three Square Food Bank to help fight hunger in Clark, Lincoln, Nye, and Esmerelda counties.
The money generated comes from Walmart's Fight Hunger, Spark Change campaign, which took place from March 28 to April 25. Participants donated directly to local Feeding America food banks at Walmart registers and purchased select food products that shared profits with the cause.
Approximately 305,430 people in Southern Nevada cannot secure enough food for themselves and their families for prolonged periods during the year. Nationally, one in seven Americans struggles with hunger, according to the USDA.
