Las Vegas veteran Joe Rosas celebrated his 101st birthday at 24 Hour Fitness on Friday.
Joe attributes his longevity to having fun, working hard, staying active, eating healthy foods, and drinking scotch. He has been exercising daily at the same 24 Hour Fitness in Summerlin for years.
In World War II, Joe served as a Merchant's Marine, a branch of the Navy, on cargo ship U.S.S. Serpens. He managed to escape death when he was promoted to chief and sent to another ship. The U.S.S. Serpens exploded two months later.
Joe also owned a roofing company in Los Angeles for over 50 years. He considers the physical labor as a key element to his continual health.
