Verve Church in Las Vegas, which bills itself as the church for people who don't like church, has announced a radical new teaching series titled "Tattooed."

Beginning Sept. 18, Pastor Vince Antonucci will share stories behind the tattoos of people who attend Verve, which is an innovative Christian church that seeks reach people who work on and live around the Las Vegas Strip.

Each of Antonucci’s sermons will address the false identities people may have “tattooed” on their hearts, while also exploring how God wants to mark them with truer, more purpose-driven identities.

The series will continue through Oct. 17 and on Oct. 2, Pastor Antonucci will get his first-ever tattoo live on stage during the church's 9 and 10:30 a.m. and noon services.

Three visitors to Verve will also receive tattoos from longtime Las Vegas tattoo artist Chance Gomez at his new shop, Collective Tattoo parlor, during the five-week series.

Verve got its start in 2010. In the beginning, less than a dozen people would meet in a living room. Now, more than 300 people attend the church.
