LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Housekeepers from the Venetian have a lot to celebrate after taking home the gold at the 30th annual Housekeeping Olympics in Las Vegas.
Thursday's events at the Mandalay Bay Events Center included a fastest bed-making competition, buffer pad toss, vacuum race and mop relay.
The main event is an executive relay featuring the management from 15 properties.
"I love the crowd, I love the adrenaline, I love the excitement and I love the competition," said Rhanda Moore, housekeeper at Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall.
"We can do more than make a bed, vacuum floors. This is Sam's Town. This is us. We love our jobs, we love each other," Moore said.
Ultimately, Venetian took the top spot.
Defending champions, The Mirage, came in second place, followed by Circus Circus in third.
The annual showdown celebrates some of the hardest-working men and women in the hospitality industry.
It was the ninth year the games were played at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
