LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A lucky gambler is nearly $1 million richer this week.
David Frys was able to hit a $905,754.63 jackpot on Tuesday while playing a Buffalo Grand slot machine at the Ellis Island hotel-casino.

"I've been playing at Ellis Island for years now and am absolutely in shock with this win," said Frys. "It's not every Tuesday that you walk into your favorite local spot and leave with almost $1 million."
Ellis Island's spokesperson says the last time it saw a win this large was back in 2017 when a player hit a $747k jackpot, also on a Buffalo Grand machine.
"With 2020 being such a difficult year for everyone in Las Vegas, we couldn't be more thrilled to have a loyal and local player hit this jackpot," said marketing director Christina Ellis, with Ellis Island.
