The UNLV School of Medicine welcomed its second class to campus this week.
60 students will make up the class of 2022. They come from more than 30 colleges and universities but all have strong ties to Southern Nevada.
One of the goals of UNLV's School of Medicine is to keep students after graduation to help bring more doctors to the valley.
"Our first gut was we have family here in Las Vegas that always complained about the communities lack of access to health care," said Hovsep Stambulyan, UNLV medical student.
The new students bring the total enrolled at the medical school to 120.
