With temperatures heating up above average once again this weekend, Uber is offering free -- yes, free -- ice cream on demand.

Uber driver-partners are delivering ice cream on demand in Southern Nevada and 400 cities around the world this Friday.

Here’s how it works: as riders order their Uber ride on demand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, they will have the option to order an ice cream directly on the Uber app and get it delivered. Ice cream is free, while supplies last.

In addition to individual requests, Uber driver-partners will be delivering ice cream to different organizations around town –- from Nevada Highway Patrol troopers to children at community centers.

Uber driver-partners across Southern Nevada are expected to deliver more than 2,000 pieces of ice cream during the four-hour promotion.
