Another survey has found Las Vegas as one of the top summer destinations.
According to a new report from Travelocity, Las Vegas ranked third, tied with Phoenix. Los Angeles and San Diego are ranked first and second, respectively, while Oakland rounds out the top 5.
Travelocity based its rankings off attractions, weather and average hotel rates from June through August. Attractions looked at beaches, national/state parks, amusement/theme parks and historical city landmarks.
Las Vegas' proximity to amusement parks and national parks made it appealing, as did its lack of rain during the summer, according to Travelocity. The report also noted affordable hotels in the city.
