Nevada State College, the second-fastest growing college in the nation, announced they have been recognized as one the safest four-year colleges in America and have recently implemented the State Safe mobile safety app which will allow Nevada State College students access to multiple University Police services.
According to Niche.com’s 2020 Safest College Campuses in America, Nevada State College ranked 19 out of 1,362 colleges and universities.
Niche.com’s ranking is based on key statistics and student reviews by using data from the U.S. Department of Education. The results of the survey considered several factors including campus crime rate, local crime grade, alcohol-related arrests, drug related arrests and more.
To continue to promote a safe campus, Nevada State College also launched State Safe, a mobile safety app that will allow students to easily access University Police services for any emergency or crime as well as COVID-19 updates.
The app will also feature mental health resources as well as Friend Walk, a feature that allows you to share your location with a friend while on campus.
The institution currently has more than 5,500 students enrolled for the 2020-2021 school year and will continue to expand its health and safety resources as the campus community grows and evolves.
