The Nevada Arts Council awarded nearly $50,000 in grants to 14 Nevada artists.

108 applicants were submitted by artists working in the literary and performing arts. Eight artist fellowships of $5,000 were awarded, along with six honorable mention awards of $500. Stephan Caplan received a $6,995 grant in the Fellowship Project category for his new work.

“I am honored that that the Arts Council invests in its artists through the fellowship program," said Nevada Arts Council Executive Director Susan Boskoff. "The funding also engages artists with the public during a free activity relevant to a fellow’s discipline, such as readings, exhibitions, performances and master classes. When artists and audiences connect we build richer communities.”
