Nevada childhood cancer survivors and their families are raising money to support a new long-term follow up clinic.

On Saturday, 13 Action News anchor Tricia Kean emceed the "Alice in Wonderland"-themed Mad Hatter Tea Party for Cure 4 the Kids at the Four Seasons Las Vegas.

The new clinic is important as no one is turned away for treatment.

Catherine Laska's son, who is now 17, was diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer at age 3 1/2.

"We now have a long-term follow up to help treat these kids to be able to stay here with their families and follow them through adulthood," Laska said.

The tea party raised $24,000 for Cure 4 the Kids' new clinic.
