LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Children in the Las Vegas valley celebrated National Reading Day with 13 Action News on Wednesday.
A few team members, including Las Vegas Morning Blend host JJ Snyder, read to students at McCaw STEAM Academy in Henderson.
Also, 13 Action News general manager Chris Way joined Peggy Scripps from E.W. Scripps and Meredith Delaney of the Scripps Howard Foundation to help donate to Spread the Word Nevada – an organization dedicated to advancing childhood literacy within low-income communities by changing lives one book at a time.
The team was able to donate 4,000 books along with a $10,000 check with the goal in helping at-risk kids to have their own library books at home.
