The brewery says it will showcase its Black is Beautiful stout at its sixth anniversary party this weekend.
"The goal of the beer is to promote inclusiveness and equality for People of Color," said Weston Barkley, the head brewer of Bad Beat Brewing.
"It's got your coffee and chocolate in there," he described, "but this one brings forward more flavors you might see in other beers, including toffee and caramel and some dark fruit nuts."
The beer will be available at the brewery on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The brewer also says 100% of the proceeds from this beer will be donated directly to the Legal Defense Fund of the Las Vegas chapter of NAACP.
Roxann McCoy, president of NAACP Chapter #1111 in Las Vegas said in a press release:
We have been serving the local Las Vegas community for 92 years. We are recognized as the nation's 'Oldest, Boldest, Biggest, Baddest,' and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization. The NAACP Branch #1111 continues to fight for Human and Civil Rights for all races and ethnicities as we head into a new phase of activism, engagement, inclusion and diversity.
The NAACP Legal Defense Fund supports us in our fight for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, we champion structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fills the promise of equality for all Americans.
Bad Beat also says it's offering some other merchandise with a portion of those proceeds also going to NAACP.
