Veterans across Las Vegas were honored for their sacrifice and service on Veterans Day. Many were offered freebies including entrance to the buffet at the M Resort.
Current and past service members waited patiently in line to grab a bite. Some where with their families. Some were alone.
As the old saying goes: a handshake and a smile will get you anywhere.
"We were both standing in line."
While waiting to get seated a Navy veteran showed camaraderie to an Army veteran. Both originally had planned to eat by themselves.
Two strangers with similar backgrounds joyfully agreed to grab a table together and enjoy a warm meal.
Those two heroes were among hundreds of veterans at the Studio B Buffet. They were all being thanked for their service and sacrifice with a free meal.
The simplicity behind a warm meal made each and every service member feel appreciated for their time spent fighting for freedom.
"It almost brings tears to your eyes,” said one proud Marine veteran.
