Firefighters played poker for a cause at Planet Hollywood this weekend.
The Las Vegas Firefighters Benefit Association hosted fellow firefighters, neighbors, local celebrities and poker enthusiasts alike Saturday at its annual poker tournament, with proceeds benefiting active and retired firefighters. They also opened the tournament to the public for the first time this year.
There was also a tournament Friday that was between Las Vegas police and firefighters.
The $200 buy-in included the chance to win tiered-cash prizes, and the winner of the tournament is guaranteed a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker main event.
The tournament ended up raising more than $20,000 with 25 percent of the proceeds benefiting firefighters.
