A special wreath-laying ceremony took place June 8 to remember the two Las Vegas police officers who were gunned down while they were eating lunch inside a CiCi's Pizza two years ago.

Officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo were honored during a ceremony at 9 a.m. at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's northeast area command, which is near Cheyenne Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.

"I can promise you this, there's not a day that goes by, or that will go by, that we will not honor their legacy," says Lt. Sasha Larkin with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.  "There's not a day that will go by that we won't lace u pour boots and go out there and continue to fight that threat and destroy that evil."

Good Samaritan Joseph Wilcox, who was killed when he attempted to stop the murderous duo in a nearby Walmart, was also honored. His mother spoke to 13 Action News at the ceremony.

"That's all he talked about, was how he couldn't stand by and watch some lunatic come in and try to ruin other people's lives," says Joseph's mother, Debra Wilcox.

Beck and Soldo were killed by a young couple who had become self-proclaimed radicals. Jerad Miller was eventually shot by police and Amanda Miller turned the gun on herself as police moved in.
