VETERANS DAY PARADE IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS
The annual Veterans Day Parade will take place on 4th Street in downtown Las Vegas on Nov. 11. The annual events attracts dozens of entries each year. It starts at 10 a.m.
NORTH LAS VEGAS VA MEDICAL CENTER CAR SHOW AND BARBECUE
VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System will be hosting a car show and barbecue on Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event features a car show sponsored by Las Vegas Cruisin’, barbecue sponsored by area Masonic Service Association and a variety stage show arranged by local activity director, Marilyn Sirna, featuring both community and professional acts. There will be numerous services offered like flu shots for registered veterans, blood pressure screenings and information on VA programs. In addition there will be a Kids’ Korner with the Shriner Clowns, Child IDs and Red Cross programs. It is free and open to the public.
CANDLELIGHT VIGIL AT VETERANS VILLAGE
The Veterans Village Third Annual Veterans Day candlelight vigil honoring our United States Veterans and US Military personnel to be held on Nov. 11. Highlights for this year’s ceremony include the unveiling of phase II of the Veterans Village Instant Built House; a two bedroom affordable housing prototype made from a 100% recycled Ocean containers and off the shelf components to create affordable, well designed and efficient housing. Mayor Carolyn Goodman wil be the guest speaker. Music by the Jet Velocity All-Star Band. The event takes place 5 to 8 p.m. at Veterans Village in downtown Las Vegas.
SERVICE DOGS FOR SERVICE MEMBERS BARBECUE
Service Dogs for Service Members’ inaugural Veterans Day Barbecue on Nov. 11 at Centennial Hills Park will raise funds to train rescue dogs to serve as service dogs to United States Armed Forces veterans in need. All proceeds from the event, including donations and silent auction, will fund rescue dog adoptions, vaccinations and training. Congressman Cresent Hardy is expected to speak.
ALWAYS LOST: A MEDITATION ON WAR EXHIBIT IN BEATTY
The exhibit honors those who gave their lives as well as those who made it home. The VFW Beatty on Main Street is hosting the exhibit through Nov. 12. It is free and open to the public.
FREE BUFFET AT ALL STATION CASINOS PROPERTIES
To honor, give thanks and pay tribute to all active military members and veterans as part of its “Operation Thank You” military appreciation and discount program, Station Casinos continues its tradition of offering a free buffet meal on Nov. 11, at all Feast and Festival Buffet locations. Feast Buffets are located at Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station and Texas Station. Festival Buffets are located at Fiesta Henderson and Fiesta Rancho.
FREE BUS RIDES
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada is providing free bus rides to veterans and active service members on Veterans Day from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Nov. 11 on all fixed routes. Must have a valid veterans/military ID card. RTC offers a 50 percent discount to veterans all year long and also offers the Veterans Medical Transportation Network for Senior & Disabled Veterans.
FREE CAR WASH AT FABULOUS FREDDY'S
Fabulous Freddy's is offering a free ultra exterior car wash, worth $9.99, to veterans and active military personnel with ID at its Las Vegas and Utah locations.
$1 HAIR CUTS
Sport Clips Haircuts around the country will be offering $1 haircuts to veterans on Veterans Day. They will also be collecting donationsl for their Help A Hero Scholarship program.
VETERANS MEMORIAL GROUNDBREAKING
Gov. Brian Sandoval will attend a groundbreaking for a local veterans memorial at the Grant Sawyer building at 11 a.m. Nov. 11. All veterans of the U.S. military as well as active duty personal and the entire civilian community of Southern Nevada are invited and ardently encouraged to attend. The proposed memorial will feature 10 larger-than-life statues of U.S. military personnel delineating America’s wars encircled by granite walls inscribed with patriotic quotations.
FREE VACATIONS FOR MILITARY FAMILIES
For the fifth year in a row, Westgate Resorts and CEO David Siegel are continuing the company tradition of honoring former and current U.S. military personnel by giving away free vacations – and for the first time this year, the number of vacations is being increased to 2,500. Beginning November 11 at 9 a.m., the first 2,500 eligible service members who complete the online military appreciation form at www.westgatedestinations.com/thankyoumilitary will receive a complimentary three-day, two-night vacation at an eligible Westgate Resorts property in Orlando, Fla., River Ranch, Fla., Branson, Mo., Gatlinburg, Tenn. or, for the first time, Las Vegas.
BUY A SLICE FOR A VETERAN AT PIZZA FORTE
Pizza Forte will offer customers the option of buying a slice for a veteran beginning Nov. 11. Customers will have the option of buying a Hofmann hot dog for $2, a slice of cheese pizza for $2 or an entire cheese pizza for $11.11. They will then be asked to write a thank you note on a pizza-shaped card that will be provided by Pizza Forte. Those notes will be hung up on the walls. When veterans come into Pizza Forte, they can redeem the notes for a complimentary slice of pizza or a whole pizza. When a veteran uses one of the notes for a free pizza, they will be asked to take a photo and say a few words about themselves. Photos and information will be posted to Pizza Forte's Facebook page. This new special offer will be available throughout the year and at all Pizza Forte locations including Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas and Sunset Station.
FREE RACE AT FAST LAP INDOOR KART RACING
Veterans will receive one free race at Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing on Nov. 11. Family and friends will be able to race for just $10. Must present valid military ID or some form of identification. All races just $10 for veterans after free race. No limit on number of races at $10 price.
FREE UFC GYM ACCESS
For all veterans and active duty military as well as their families, UFC GYM is giving them VIP status for five days beginning on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11. UFC GYM is offering free total gym access from Nov. 11-15 at participating UFC GYMs. Additionally, UFC GYM is offering a special Basic Training themed Daily Ultimate Training class on Saturday, Nov. 14.
FREE ADMISSION TO SIEGFRIED & ROY'S SECRET GARDEN AND DOLPHIN HABITAT
All active and retired military personnel will receive complimentary admission with a valid ID. Family members who carry dependent and spouse ID cards will receive a $5 discount. Free admission and discounts offered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 7-15. Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat located at The Mirage.
FREE PAINTING CLASS AT PINOT'S PALETTE
Pinot's Palette will offer a free painting class for veterans at both of its locations on Veterans Day. Veterans will have the opportunity ot paint "Not Forgotten," a painting dedicated to the military. Veterans simply need to contact either studio to reserve their seat. DISCOUNTED ADMISSION TO SHARK REEF AQUARIUM
The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is offering $10 general admission to all active and retired military personnel; with a valid ID from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 8-11. General admission is normally $20.

CSI: The Experience at the MGM Grand is offering 2-for-1 admission from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 9-13 to all active and retired military personnel.
DISCOUNTED TICKETS FOR NEW YORK-NEW YORK ROLLER COASTER
All active and retired military personnel with a valid ID receive $7 admission, up to two tickets, for the roller coaster from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10:30 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. This is an ongoing offer.
FREE HAMBURGER FROM RED ROBIN
Red Robin is inviting all veterans and active-duty service members to enjoy a FREE Red’s Tavern Double burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on Nov. 11, at all of its restaurants nationwide. Additionally, as part of its year-round commitment to giving back to those who serve their country, Red Robin is rewarding its military Red Robin Royalty members with a 20 percent discount at participating restaurants throughout the holiday season (Nov. 12-Dec. 31).
