Thousands of people who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless, and more than 150 local agencies that can help them, will come together Tuesday  for the 2016 Project Homeless Connect at the Cashman Center at 850 N. Las Vegas Boulevard.

Every year, hundreds of volunteers help with the event by performing a variety of tasks including checking-in and escorting attendees around Project Homeless Connect, which connects thousands of people who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless with agencies and organizations that offer housing, job training, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and other services.

Project Homeless Connect is free to attend for those people who are homeless or at risk for becoming homeless.

Attendees will be able to check-in from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

During last year’s event, about 600 volunteers helped about 3,500 Project Homeless Connect attendees.
