More than 90 children in need were given $150 gift cards to Target during the Shop with a Cop event on December 2.
Santa Claus himself arrived at the Target near Lake Mead Parkway and Water Street via motorcade escort from the Henderson Police Department. From there, more than 80 police and corrections officers, volunteers, and support staff handed out the gift cards to the children.
The officers and staff then paired up with the kids to help them shop for the holidays.
“I am heartened by this outpouring of charitable giving by my officers, especially to the children in need,” Henderson Police Chief LaTesha Watson said. “It was a great opportunity to see the bond between our Department and the citizens we serve.”
