UPDATE FEB. 18 6:45 A.M. Red Rock Scenic Drive is closed due to icy roads and cold weather. At this time, the Bureau of Land Management is unsure when it will be open again.
ORIGINAL STORY
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - The Scenic Drive entrance at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area will be free on Monday, Feb. 18 in honor of Presidents Day.
Other fees, such as camping and group day use, will remain in effect.
Visitation on that day is expected to be heavy, with the most congested time anticipated between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Scenic Drive was closed Feb. 14 and part of the day on Feb. 15 due to heavy rain and flooding. It is open once again, but authorities recommend checking road conditions before you head out.
